Jockey Cap Stewardship
Upper Saco Valley Land Trust (USVLT) needs our financial support to address severe trail erosion and install trail and educational signage at Jockey Cap.
To date, USVLT has raised over $100,000 through grants. We now need your support to complete this stewardship effort. Your donation will support the hiring of a professional trail crew and the production and installation of signage and a trailhead kiosk.
The remaining fundraising need is $50,000. It’s a big number, but we have a plan!
Over the next few months, Friends of the Ledges (FOTL) will be spreading the word about the funding needed for Jockey Cap stewardship and encouraging the community to help close the gap. Later this summer we will be supporting the submission of an application to a grant program that funds trail restoration projects that we believe is well aligned to close the funding gap.
By highlighting the incredible resource, the work completed to date, and maximizing grass-roots contributions to minimizing the amount requested, we can be successful in bringing in the last dollars needed for the project, which will allow for the full implementation of the stewardship plan in Fall 2025.
Every dollar you donate improves our chances of success!
